Who is Necati Artan ?
Necati Artan started his piloting career in 1950 and became one of the first jet pilots of Türkiye. He was the founder of National acroteam, the second acrobatics team of Turkish Air Force which is commonly known as Flying Swans. The airshow performed by F-86 planes of Flying Swans in İstanbul skies with 9 and 12 planes attracted enormous attention during that period. The acrobatics show performed over Dolmabahçe skies on October 31, 1965 has been talked about for many years. Necati Artan retired after serving as the commander of Fleet 191. One of the legends of Turkish Aeronautical History, Mr. Artan passed away on March 4, 2015.
